Finance & Accounts Department

Generally, the Department is responsible for the following:

1. Supervision of disbursement of funds;
2. Maintenance of Accounting Records of the Ministry;
3. Prompt rendition of all returns to the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation (OAGF)
4. Liaising with the OAGF on relevant matters related with Accounts Department;
5. Overseeing the preparation of Executive Bill (Budget Proposal) of the Ministry by Budget Division;
6. Overseeing the preparation of Budget Bilateral meeting by Budget Division;
7. Advising the relevant spending departments on the implications of a recent Treasury Circulars;
8. Advise both the Hon. Minister and the Permanent Secretary on Budget and other Financial Regulations Requirement; and
9. Conduct other official duties that may arise.
