Projects & Programmes (P&P) Department
In collaboration with Policy Implementation and Monitoring of Government Decisions (PIMGD) Department which has the statutory mandate to perform Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS) assignments, the Department of Projects and Programmes carries out the following functions:
- Preparation/processing and implementation of Capital Projects of the Ministry and ZIP/CP (Zonal Intervention Projects/Constituency Projects) domiciled with the FMSDIGA;
- Verification of all ZIP/CP (Zonal Intervention Projects/Constituency Projects) to ascertain the level of work done and authorize payments as captured in the Federal Government Circulars, Ref No SGF/OP/I/S.3/T/23 of 19th August, 2013; Ref No SGF/OP/I/S.3/T/12 of 14th January, 2015; and SDO/P&P/034/Vol. 1/21 of 24th July, 2017;
- Periodic Monitoring and Evaluation of all zonal Intervention/ Constituency Projects as captured in the Appropriation Acts of the National Assembly;
- Organization of annual stakeholders’ interactive forum involving all the MDAs (Ministry, Departments and Agencies) implementing Zonal Intervention/Constituency Projects;
- Preparing templates for verification, monitoring and evaluation of Zonal Intervention/ Constituency Projects;
- Preparing guidelines on the implementation of Zonal Intervention/ Constituency Projects;
- Implementing Zonal Intervention/Constituency Projects domiciled in the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter- Governmental Affairs;
- Oversee the preparation of Bill of Engineering Measurements and Evaluation (BEME) as well as Bill of Quantities (BOQs) for projects implemented by the Ministry;
- Implementing the Zonal Intervention/Constituency Projects domiciled in the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs;
- Preparation of annual verification, monitoring and evaluation reports; and
- Handling functions of ad – hoc nature as may be assigned by Management.
